From Hard Code To No Code
My first personal website was built sometime ago in 2015. At that time, I was getting back in learning HTML and CSS. I decided to put my skills to the test by trying to build a person website.
The first version was fine but it had some issues. The code was a bit message and it wasn’t mobile responsive.
Now, josephkuuire.com v3.0 is officially live and my way of building websites has evolved thanks to no-code tools.
Why Even Build A Personal Website
So why even build a website? That’s a great question!
Answer: Because you can
Actual Real Answer: Because it’s a great way to increase your personal brand.
I look at a personal website as an interactive overview of yourself. Your personal website can have anything on it. It can display your work experience, your design portfolio, something your selling etc.
How To Build Your Personal Website
There are a plethora of choices when it comes to building your personal website. You can build your website by hard coding (HTML, CSS), use website builders like SquareSpace and Wix or you can use no-code tools like Webflow.
Building Josephkuuire.com v3.0 (ish)
I went from building my website using HTML and CSS to using a no-code tool like Webflow.
In all honesty, there was a bit of a learning curve when it came to using Webflow. But thanks to their awesome Youtube videos and tons of online resources, I learnt a lot and eventually got to build and push my website to go live.
As mentioned, I’m currently on v3.0 (or v4.0. I think I lost count 😅).
For this current version, I’m calling it “Dark Mode”. There is no switch to go from “Dark Mode” to “Light mode”. Maybe I’ll learn how to do that in Webflow later.
I’m starting to experiment more using animations for a more “interactive” experience on the website.
But I’m still learning and trying to get better. Can’t wait to transfer what I’ve learnt to josephkuuire.com v4.0.
